Story shared by Mommy & Daddy

When approached with the idea of sharing our baby girl Lilith's story, we immediately agreed! Our little heart warrior has shown us a kind of love never felt before and continues to brighten our days as time passes by. We knew we’d have a tough journey ahead of us when an ultrasound at 30 weeks gestation showed Lilith had an Atrioventricular Septal Defect (AVSD) that could only be repaired with open heart surgery. Nevertheless, we wanted to provide as many opportunities for her development and nervously began tummy time at just a few weeks old. Huge improvements in tummy time came shortly after her surgery at just under 4 months old. With the incredible support from the Heart Institute at Children's Hospital Los Angeles and the Ronald McDonald House LA, we were able to bring Lilith home with fabulous recovery and the possibility to continue working on her development. SLEA Therapies has been working with us since Lilith was only 3 months old and continues to the present day. Lilith's child development specialists have been amazing in helping support and guide us through Lilith's overall development, continuously setting developmental goals to help her achieve the next level. We are so proud of Lilith, she continues to teach us new experiences as parents and we are so excited to see her continue to grow!
